What Is Interventional Cardiology?
When we talk about interventional cardiology, we are referring to a modern approach that allows me to diagnose and treat your heart without the need for open-heart surgery.
In practice, I use extremely thin, flexible tubes (catheters) that are introduced through a very small entry point at the wrist or groin. This allows me to reach the exact point in the heart where the problem lies, with 99% precision, whether that is a narrowed or blocked artery or a valve that is not functioning correctly, and to address it immediately.
For you, this means:

Holter Rhythm & Blood Pressure Monitor
For cases where symptoms do not appear during the examination itself, we use 24-hour (or multi-day) recording. The Holter rhythm monitor aids in the diagnosis of arrhythmias, while the Holter blood pressure monitor records blood pressure fluctuations throughout the day and night, ensuring optimal hypertension management.

Coronary Angiography: The most accurate imaging of the Heart

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
The coronary arteries are the vessels that supply the heart muscle with oxygen. When atherosclerotic plaques narrow or block them, the heart receives less blood and the consequences can range from chest pain to a full-blown heart attack. Until recently, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) was often the only option. Today, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) restores blood flow without opening the chest, in a matter of minutes, under local anaesthesia.
Specialized & Rare Interventional Procedures
1. Myocardial Biopsy
An advanced diagnostic procedure that enables histological analysis of cardiac tissue. It is essential for the early diagnosis of rare conditions such as amyloidosis, myocarditis, or unexplained heart failure. Performed percutaneously, under local anesthesia, with complete safety.
2. Pericardiocentesis
The immediate interventional treatment for the removal of fluid from the pericardial sac. Under continuous echocardiographic guidance, the procedure provides immediate relief in cases of cardiac tamponade or significant pericardial effusion (pericarditis), protecting cardiac function.
3. Alcohol Septal Ablation
A pioneering, non-surgical technique for the treatment of Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy. Through targeted alcohol injection, reduction in the thickness of the hypertrophied interventricular septum is achieved, restoring normal blood flow and delivering a dramatic improvement in the patient's quality of life.
