Since 2022, Dr. Kolyviras has served as Director of the 4th Cardiology Department \u2014 Interventional Cardiology Unit at Metropolitan General, where he is responsible for coordinating the catheterization laboratory and managing complex interventional cardiology cases.<\/p>

From 2016 to 2021, he served as Attending Physician in the Interventional Cardiology and Valvular Heart Disease Departments at Errikos Dunant Hospital Center, actively participating in the management of coronary artery disease and structural heart disease cases.<\/p>

Coronary Artery Disease & Angioplasty<\/b><\/p>

His interventional activity encompasses the complete diagnostic and therapeutic management of coronary artery disease, including diagnostic and right heart catheterizations, coronary angiography, and coronary angioplasty.<\/p>

He has extensive experience in the management of complex coronary disease, including left main disease, bifurcation lesions, multivessel disease, and chronic total occlusions (CTO).<\/p>

To optimize procedural outcomes, he employs advanced imaging and plaque modification technologies, including intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), intravascular lithotripsy (Shockwave), and rotational atherectomy (Rotablator).<\/p>

Advanced Techniques & High-Risk Support<\/b><\/p>

For procedures of increased technical complexity, he applies specialized techniques including bioresorbable vascular scaffolds, graft angioplasty, below-the-knee peripheral interventions, and renal artery interventions.<\/p>

He has experience in the use of intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) for hemodynamic support in selected cases.<\/p>

His scope also includes structural heart disease interventions, such as left atrial appendage closure and atrial septal defect closure, as well as myocardial biopsies and pericardiocentesis.<\/p>
